Yes, the smell can be contained and destroyed biologically - complete layout will be needed to design a system

We have installed an odor mitigation system for 88 MLD Municipal Water Reclamation Facility using biofilter. Kindly provide air volume/area of the pit and desired number of air change, air quality, etc

Liked your paper, this kind of information can be hard to find.

the cheapest and most effective way is to aerate the pump pit, for which you can install a closed loop submersible pump with Venturi, preferably a pump with cutting device to avoid clogging, if you want I can send a picture.

Hi Hatem,
Ozone generators are on-site deodorization solution for STP and pumping site vent. Ozone will take care of NOX, SOX, Ammonia, H2S, CO and also biological contaminants. Indeed there is a capital cost but then there are no recurring expenses. If you need any more help, we can assist you. contact us at info@aeolusbioenergy.com
You can also read certain articles on our website for ozone based deodorization challenges.
Please find a brief writeup on ozone application in foul odour control with STP.

I would start with air sampling to determine what makes up the smell, then that will help you target the technology towards prioritizing what odor to reduce.

Hey Hatem,
Try looking up a Bio-filter. Have seen them as in vessel and static pile. Kind of like using a compost pile as an air filter. Have seen them work on ATAD process gas which is high in redused sulfur.
These things can be as simple as a blower, perforated pipe, and look like a raised flower bed.

Dear Hatem Allam ,
The basis of an unpleasant odor (bad smell) is composed of well-known harmful chemicals. A simple solution for reducing the unpleasant odor and its justification I can be reported in personal correspondence. Please tell your email.Best regards,

You can treat with chemistry if you have OPEX or use a scrubber if you have CAPEX. Hydrogen peroxide, magnesium sulfate, and various other approaches like essential oils vaporized to adsorb and then absorb into the droplet. Things like Febreeze use starch chemistry, which is a bit different but same type of mechanism. Iron salts can also tie up sulfur species and can be regenerated with hydrogen peroxide. I can give you a list of chemical companies or scrubber companies if you would like. Reach out to me on my mobile phone at 239-989-3581. If you want a full economic evaluation and bid structured, I am a consultant and can stream line all of this for you. I charge by the project, and you are certain to ultimately save money with me doing the bid specs and negotiating for the best deal. Hope this helps. Thanks, Sean

Consider educt vent pipe/ stack ( if close to residential area) for pump discharge Chamber u/s of the pump wet well.

Dear Sir, first of all it is necessary to understand project criteria of pumping station and origin of it. If it is sewage you can use a scruber or exhaust systems with special filters that have to be replaced periodicaly
