Innovative Nature-based Wastewater Treatment for Rural and Urban Environments (Video)

The INNOQUA project is challenging pre-conceived ideas that nature-based wastewater treatment is only suitable for rural and remote populations.

Harnessing the combined potential of earthworms, zooplankton, and microalgae, the modular system is currently being demonstrated in 11 countries on 4 continents – in both urban and rural environments.  The project is exploring the treatment efficacy of the system as well as the potential for water re-use.

In this film, INNOQUA scientists explain the technologies and bring you to demo and pilot sites in Europe and Latin America.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 689817.
